Bible studies offered throughout the week
LA GRANDE — The La Grande First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) will worship at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25. Bible study for adults is held at 9 a.m. before the service each week. A general board meeting will be held after the service, at 11:45 a.m.
The church offers a variety of Bible studies. On Thursday, Feb. 22, the Homemakers’ Bible Study is at 1:30 p.m. Two groups meet for study on Monday, Feb. 26: Mighty Men at 11 a.m. and Bible Sleuths (formerly called the Devoted Daughters) meets at 4 p.m. Call the church office at 541-963-2623 for more information.
Get ready for RootsTech
NORTHEAST OREGON — A number of wards and branches of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the region will hold conferences on Sunday, Feb. 25, including the Union Ward, the Pine Valley Branch and the La Grande Young Single Adult Branch. At these gatherings, the ward bishop or branch president and a member of the Stake Presidency will speak during Sacrament services. In other locations, members of the congregations will lead the teaching.

During the second hour, Relief Society, Elder Quorum and youth groups will meet.
The “Come, Follow Me” lesson for the week of Feb. 19 is based on the Book of Mormon, 2 Nephi 6-10. In these scriptures, Jacob, the younger brother of Nephi, teaches from the words of Isaiah (Isaiah 50-52) and expounds on how Jesus Christ will save us all from sin and death.
To help prepare for RootsTech (slated for Feb. 29-March 2) and to understand why family history and your own story is so important, members are encouraged to search YouTube for a video called “Your Story Is Worth Remembering — A Short RootsTech Film.”
