LA GRANDE — After being shut down since COVID arrived, the Union County Historical Society is meeting again, according to a post on social media.

The purpose of the group is to preserve the area’s history. In the past, meetings have included speakers about all facets of life in the county.

The historical society will resume meeting in the log cabin at the Union County Fairgrounds, 3604 N. Second St., La Grande. The first meeting will be a meet-and-greet beginning at 1 p.m. March 9, a Saturday.

There will be light snacks and drinks, and all are welcome.
