MOLALLA — Country Christian sophomore Emma Seubert will be a name remembered for some time in Union.
With just seconds remaining and the score tied between the fourth-seeded Cougars and the 13th-seeded Bobcats, Seubert connected on a long 3-point shot to give Country Christian a 47-44 victory on Saturday, Feb. 24, in the OSAA 1A state playoffs.
The loss ends the Bobcats’ with a 20-7 overall record, including losses in two of the team’s final three games. Union placed fourth in the recently completed Old Oregon League tournament.
A young team, Union loses only Jayda Blackburn to graduation and will take the court next season with two seniors, two juniors and three sophomores, all with considerable time on the court.
