PENDLETON — The Eastern Oregon baseball team dropped both games to Oregon Tech on Sunday, 10-1 and 8-1. The series was originally scheduled to be played in Klamath Falls before weather concerns forced the move.

Eastern Oregon struggled to generate offense against Oregon Tech’s strong pitching with its lone run in the opener coming in the sixth inning on Joey Freitas’ RBI after being hit by a pitch. EOU starter Brock Cortes went six inning and only gave up two runs while striking out eight.

Freitas got the Mounties off to a strong start in the second game when he singled home Chase Nett in the third inning, but that is all the offense the team could muster.

Eastern Oregon is now 8-9 on the season and faced the Owls for another doubleheader on Monday.
