ELGIN — Elgin senior Ty McLaughlin still has another high school football game to play. On Friday, March 8, McLaughlin was announced as a member of the east team for the annual Oregon East-West Shrine All-Star football game.

McLaughlin and his east squad teammates will face the west squad on the field at Baker High School on July 27.

The game features senior football players from the 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A levels. Proceeds from the game go to the Portland Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland, an institution providing care to children regardless of the families’ ability to pay.

McLaughlin will join his teammates well in advance of the game. Practices, public appearances and a presentation by the Portland Shriners Hospital for Children will be on the schedule for one week prior to the actual game.
