High school girls basketball: Five Tigers named to all-Greater Oregon League team

LA GRANDE — After claiming the 4A Greater Oregon League girls basketball title, individual players and La Grande head coach Brian Wright were recognized for their efforts as the 4A Greater Oregon All-League team was announced.

Three Tigers were named to the first team — senior Maezie Wilcox, junior Kayle Collman and Peyton Daggett, the lone sophomore on the first team.

Two additional underclassmen joined the three as second-team selections. Junior Olivia Pennington and sophomore Rowan Evans made the list.

La Grande head coach Brian Wright was chosen by his peers as the Greater Oregon League Coach of the Year.

The Tigers finished the season with a 16-9 record and a 5-1 mark in the GOL. La Grande’s season came to an end in the first round of the OSAA Class 4A state playoffs, a 36-30 loss to Marist Catholic.
