THURSDAY, MARCH 14

6:26 a.m. A caller told La Grande police about a broken water main at Fourth Street and C Avenue. The city shops department was notified.

8:05 a.m. La Grande police took a report for the unlawful entry into a motor vehicle at The La Grande Inn.

1:48 p.m. La Grande police received a call about the burglary of a residence on the 3300 block of Union Street. The responding officers arrested Kelby Richard Johlke, 28, of Pendleton, for first-degree burglary and two counts of harassment.

2:05 p.m. La Grande police took a report for shoplifting at Safeway.

2:51 p.m. La Grande police took a report for shoplifting at Safeway.

3:35 p.m. La Grande police took a report for shoplifting at Safeway.

4:34 p.m. While lodged in Union County Jail, Damon Troy Smaage Jr., 27, was arrested by La Grande police on a Union County secret indictment warrant charging three counts of first-degree sexual abuse and luring a minor.

8:01 p.m. La Grande police responded to the 200 block of Fourth Street for a report of a disturbance. Officers arrested Steven Tyler Jones, 22, for second-degree disorderly conduct.

11:39 p.m. A caller told La Grande police about shoplifting at La Grande Chevron Foodmart. The responding officers arrested Khase Green, 18, and Kenneth Jordan Gill, 19, for third-degree theft. Both were also trespassed from the property.

FRIDAY, MARCH 15

4:13 a.m. Hermiston Police Department arrested Daniel Michael Steven Long, 35, on a Union County warrant charging second-degree criminal mischief, second-degree disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal trespass.

9:18 a.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested Kay Diane Chatwood, 69, on a Lane County warrant.

12:05 p.m. La Grande police received a call about a drug law violation at Cove Apartments.

3:27 p.m. A La Grande police officer was flagged down by an individual at South 12th Street and Bushnell Road about drug paraphernalia. The officer disposed of the item.

10:08 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a disturbance on the 57900 block of Godley Road in Union. Deputies responded and separated the parties.

SATURDAY, MARCH 16

1:16 a.m. La Grande police received a call about a disturbance on the 3000 block of Q Avenue. Officers responded and determined an individual was locked out of their residence.

3:06 a.m. La Grande police received a call about a possible trespass on the 2100 block of Third Street. Officers responded and determined the individual was at the wrong house. Law enforcement provided a courtesy ride.

1:42 p.m. A caller told La Grande police about a suspicious vehicle at the Social Security Administration. Officers took a report for unlawful entry into a motor vehicle.

7:34 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call from the 75800 block of Palmer Junction Road in Elgin about a stolen vehicle.

7:41 p.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a suspicious vehicle on the 61000 block of Pierce Road in La Grande. The caller made contact with the driver prior to law enforcement arrival and found they had run out of gas.

10:53 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a domestic disturbance at Walmart in Island City. A deputy and La Grande police officers responded and separated the parties.

SUNDAY, MARCH 17

7:38 a.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 62800 block of Booth Lane in La Grande for shoplifting. A deputy responded and arrested Ashley Nadine Swanson, 35, for second-degree theft.

11:47 a.m. Law enforcement took a report of criminal mischief at the La Grande Church of Christ.

12:08 p.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a possible trespass on the 63000 block of Owsley Canyon Road in La Grande. A deputy reached out and the subject was warned by the property owner for criminal trespass.

7:43 p.m. La Grande police arrested Bryan Michael Nearing, 45, on two Union County failure to appear warrants with original charges of second-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal trespass. Nearing was also taken into custody on an additional charge of being a felon in possession of a weapon.

9:07 p.m. A caller told La Grande police about a fight on the 1800 block of G Avenue. Officers and a Union County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the scene. Sidney Jason Rose, 46, was arrested for disorderly conduct and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Dylan Clunas, 19, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

10:02 p.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a minor in possession by consumption on the 10400 block of South Valley Road in Island City. A deputy responded and cited one individual.

MONDAY, MARCH 18

1:14 a.m. La Grande police arrested Kathina Marie Ruffner, 19, for fourth-degree assault.

7:21 a.m. During a field interrogation at Safeway, La Grande police arrested Kory Michael Hubbard, 34, on a Marion County failure to appear warrant.

7:59 a.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s office about a wildlife sighting on the 58100 block of Highway 203 in Union. A deputy reached out and notified the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.

8:11 a.m. La Grande police took a report of theft at La Grande Middle School.

10:47 a.m. La Grande police took a report of a burglary at Safeway.

12:38 p.m. La Grande police responded to the Chevron Jacksons Food Stores for a report of a transient camp.

10:27 p.m. A caller requested contact from La Grande police about a bicycle stolen from Hideout Saloon.

TUESDAY, MARCH 19

8:31 a.m. La Grande police responded to a call from Wells Fargo Bank and trespassed one subject.

9:04 a.m. Gresham Police Department arrested Venilla Iceis Princess Blake, 42, on a Union County failure to appear warrant.

9:15 a.m. A caller told La Grande police about a traffic hazard at Jefferson Avenue and Fir Street. Officers responded and told the individual to stay off the road.

3:37 p.m. La Grande police took a report of shoplifting at Safeway.

4:53 p.m. A caller told La Grande police about criminal mischief at Allied Mortgage Resource. Officers responded and took a report for shoplifting.

8:55 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to Island City Market and Deli and trespassed one subject.

10:01 p.m. La Grande police responded to Arby’s and trespassed one subject.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 20

7:34 a.m. La Grande police officers and Union County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the Oregon Department of Transportation office and trespassed one subject.

9:10 a.m. Woodland Washington Police Department arrested Brandon James Campbell, 43, on a Union County failure to appear warrant with an original charge of fugitive from justice.

10:06 a.m. La Grande police trespassed one subject from McLean Family Dental.

12:02 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a traffic hazard near Valley Realty in Island City. A deputy responded and warned one subject for disorderly conduct.

2 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office took a report of criminal mischief at the United States Postal Service in Elgin.

4:35 p.m. A caller informed the La Grande police department about an unattended child at Dutch Bros Coffee. Officers reunited the child with a parent.

5:14 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 800 block of Cedar Street in Elgin and disposed of drug paraphernalia.

5:17 p.m. La Grande police responded to the 2400 block of Riddle Road and disposed of drug paraphernalia.

7:28 p.m. During a field interrogation at Q Avenue and 21st Street, La Grande police arrested Austin Jae Paul Robinson, 34, on a Union County cite and release warrant for driving under the influence of intoxicants. He was also charged with first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree criminal mischief.

THURSDAY, MARCH 21

2:35 a.m. During a field interrogation at Riverside Park, the Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested Shawn Lee Presock, 41, for menacing-simple assault and unlawful use of a weapon.

7:59 a.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a four-wheeler stolen from the 73800 block of Highway 82 in Elgin.

8:01 a.m. La Grande police responded to Commercial Tire and trespassed one subject.

8:11 a.m. La Grande police took a report of theft at FedEx Ground.

10:31 a.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to 140 block of East Dearborn Street in Union and disposed of drug paraphernalia.

1:11 p.m. La Grande police arrested Donald Lynn Mawhinney, 44, on two Union County warrants. The first charged menacing constituting domestic violence and the second charged 11 counts of contempt of court.

4:20 p.m. La Grande police received a call about a drug law violation at Safeway. An officer responded and arrested John William Reisner, 53, for second-degree criminal trespass.

4:51 p.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about the unlawful entry into a motor vehicle at Lighthouse United Pentecostal Church in Island City.

FRIDAY, MARCH 22

2:19 a.m. La Grande police received a noise complaint on the 1500 block of Adams Avenue. The responding officers separated the parties and warned them for a noise ordinance violation.

9:32 a.m. A caller told La Grande police about a suspicious person near Swire Coca-Cola. The responding officer performed a welfare check and determined the subject was OK.

11:13 a.m. During a field interrogation at Safway, La Grande police arrested Kattrina Darlene Cudaback, 42, on three Umatilla County failure to appear warrants.

12:19 p.m. While doing follow-up on the North end of Sammyville Lane in Elgin, the Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested Trinity Ann McKaig, 23, for attempting to elude.

2:49 p.m. During a field interrogation at Dairy Queen, La Grande police arrested Robert Blaine Taylor, 45, on two counts of third-degree theft and two counts of first-degree criminal mischief.

4:52 p.m. During a field interrogation on the 100 block of Adams Avenue, La Grande police arrested Jason T. Wall, 37, on a Colorado warrant for failure to comply.

6:28 p.m. Maegan Renee Criswell, 38, was arrested in Benton County, Washington, on a Union County failure to appear warrant.

6:59 p.m. La Grande police received a call about a drug law violation on the 400 block of First Street. An officer forwarded information to the relevant task force.

11:53 p.m. La Grande police responded to Sundowner Mobile Park for a report of a disturbance and arrested Randee Cae Bartlett, 33, for harassment-offensive physical contact.
