HOMEDALE, Idaho — Coach Walt Anderson and the La Grande softball team have won over every team this season. The one entity the Tigers could not overcome was a storm settling into Eastern Oregon and Western Idaho.

On the road in tournament play, the Tigers took care of both Kuna and Timberline, of Idaho, while taking part in the WPT Classic Tournament in Idaho.

Facing Kuna first on Friday, March 22, La Grande allowed 12 hits and committed two errors while taking a tight 12-11 victory. Sophomore Kallyn Harnack picked up her first start of the year, pitching two innings and allowing nine hits, while facing 17 Kuna hitters. Senior Belle Neer came on in relief, allowing seven hits in three innings while also facing 17 Kuna batters.

In the second game of the day, the Tigers held Timberline scoreless in a 10-0 win. La Grande scattered seven hits, while committing no errors in the game. Junior Carlee Strand was on the mound for the entire game, striking out five batters and allowing just four hits.

Waking up on March 23, the Tigers were rained out of both games scheduled for the day.

La Grande (5-0 overall) takes spring break off before starting 4A Greater Oregon League play on April 2 with two games in Baker (3-5 overall). The two games will be the league openers for both teams.
