High school softball: Tigers remain perfect after victory over winless Warriors

PHILOMATH — A long bus ride ended in only four innings as La Grande defeated Philomath/Alsea, 21-0 in nonleague action on Saturday, April 6.

The Tigers pushed the team’s season record to 8-0 after a game that saw the bats moving with 16 hits. Junior Carlee Strand saw the ball go over the fence with two home runs on the day. Sophomores Maddie Seavert and Kallyn Harnack each added one home run.

Junior Austyn Meuser went the distance in the circle for the Tigers, striking out six Warriors while only allowing a single hit.

Per the mercy rule, the game was called at the end of four innings.

La Grande (8-0 overall) will jump to Washington on April 9 to meet College Place (7-1 overall) in a nonleague game.
