WEDNESDAY, APRIL 3

1:27 a.m. La Grande police responded to Grande Wood Apartments for a noise complaint and warned one subject about the noise ordinance.

2 a.m. A caller told La Grande police about a noise complaint on the 1500 block of Y Avenue. Officers responded and the individuals agreed to keep the noise down.

10:05 a.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office took an animal complaint at Second and E streets in North Powder. An animal enforcement officer made contact and resolved the situation.

12:09 p.m. A caller told La Grande police about a hit-and-run at Safeway. The responding officer was able to locate the driver and two drivers exchanged information.

12:23 p.m. Morrow County Sheriff’s Office arrested Carl Keith Matheny, 52, on a Union County warrant for being a felon in possession of a restricted weapon, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of 1 ounce of marijuana.

12:24 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received an animal complaint from the 400 block of F Street in North Powder. An animal enforcement officer reached out and explained the options.

1:43 p.m. La Grande police responded to Chevron Jacksons Food Stores and trespassed one subject.

2:14 p.m. A caller informed the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a dog at large at Madison Avenue and Greenwood Street. An animal enforcement officer responded and counseled the owner.

3:53 p.m. During a field interrogation on the 1200 block of Benton Avenue, La Grande police arrested one juvenile on a Union County warrant.

3:58 p.m. La Grande police responded to Arby’s and trespassed one individual.

4:01 p.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about a juvenile disturbance at Elgin Mobile Home Park. A deputy responded and will follow up.

4:12 p.m. La Grande police responded to Grande Ronde Valley Habitat for Humanity ReStore for a report of a trespass. The subject agreed to move along.

4:58 p.m. A caller informed La Grande police about a suspicious person near Cook Memorial Library. An officer responded, and the subject moved along.

5:54 p.m. La Grande police took a report of theft from the 1300 block of Cherry Street.

6:42 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about an accident with a gun on the 70000 block of Ruckle Road in Summerville. A deputy responded and took the information.

7:55 p.m. La Grande police responded to Dollar Tree and trespassed one subject, who agreed to leave the area.

9:56 p.m. La Grande police arrested Dale Wesley Lahr, 36, of La Grande, on a detainer.

THURSDAY, APRIL 4

12:25 a.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a report of the possible location of a wanted person in Union and a deputy advised.

1 a.m. A caller told La Grande police about the location of a runaway at Grande Wood Apartments. An officer made contact and took the information.

8:39 a.m. While following up at the Chevron in Elgin, the Union County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joshua Caleb Meier, 35, for two restraining order violations.

8:41 a.m. A caller told La Grande police about a transient individual sleeping outside Eastern Oregon Title. An officer responded, and the subject left the area.

9:43 a.m. La Grande police responded to Safeway for a report of a transient male sleeping outside the business. The subject agreed to leave the area.

10:48 a.m. La Grande police arrested Tyler John Sheridan, 35, on a Union County warrant with original charges of first-degree burglary, third-degree theft and unlawful possession of a controlled substance.

11:35 a.m. A caller told the Union County Sheriff’s Office about possible animal neglect on the 3000 block of Q Avenue in La Grande. An animal enforcement officer advised and took the information.

11:50 a.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a dog at large on the 200 block of E Street in North Powder. An animal enforcement officer responded and issued a citation.

11:51 a.m. A caller informed La Grande police about a domestic disturbance happening at The La Grande Inn. Officers responded and arrested Jay David Peppler, 37, on two out of county warrants and for violating a restraining order. The first was a Multnomah County warrant charging flight as a fugitive. The second was a Clackamas County failure to appear warrant.

12:09 p.m. The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 2400 block of Riddle Road in La Grande for a trespass. A deputy cited Misty Dawn Dean, 40, in lieu of custody for disorderly conduct.

3:43 p.m. A caller told La Grande police about a careless driver on Island Avenue. Officers responded and counseled the driver.

8:22 p.m. La Grande police responded to a noise complaint on the 3000 block of Q Avenue and explained the available options.

9:29 p.m. La Grande police received a call about suspicious circumstances on the 1300 block of Seventh Street. An officer responded and counseled the subjects.
