LA GRANDE — The recent poll voted upon by the state’s baseball coaches is not great news for the La Grande baseball team.

After a tough spring break trip to Arizona, the Tigers have dropped out of the top 10 in the 4A ranks. The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) released the latest poll on Monday, April 8. The previous poll placed the Tigers at fifth.

A 4A Greater Oregon League opponent, the Buckaroos of Pendleton/Nixyaawii, sit eighth in the voting, down from a previous sixth-place rank.

Scappoose leads the 4A voting followed by Henley and North Marion. Marist Catholic and Junction City round out the top five 4A teams per the voting.

In the official OSAA ranking, La Grande is placed 26 th among the 31 4A teams.

Pendleton/Nixyaawii is ranked fourth and both Baker/Powder Valley and Ontario sit higher than La Grande. The Bulldogs are ranked 16 th with Ontario two spots better at 14th.
