UNION — After enduring three nonleague losses this past week, the Union/Cove baseball team cannot wait to return to 2A/1A Special District 7 play and defend the team’s 3-0 start to the year.

The two most recent losses came at the hands of the La Grande junior varsity on Friday, April 12. The Tigers needed only six innings before taking a 24-9 victory over the Bobcats in the opener.

The nightcap ended after only five innings as the Tigers downed Union/Cove, 23-1.

The two losses followed a nonleague loss to Vale on April 10. Union/Cove (4-7 overall, 3-0 2A/1A Special District 7) finally is back in district action on April 16 with a trip to Elgin (0-6 overall, 0-6 2A/1A Special District 7). This will be the first of three successive games against Elgin as the Huskies will be in Union on April 19 for two games.
