High school golf: Tigers grab second at Baker Invitational

BAKER CITY — After claiming first place just a week prior at the Nels Nelson Invitational, the La Grande girls golf team settled for second at the Baker Invitational played at Quail Ridge on Monday, May 15.

Despite shooting a team record 373 for the day, the team representing Cole Valley, Idaho, grabbed the top spot.

The Tigers were led by both Natasha Lane and Emma Bell as both carded identical scores of 90 over the 18 holes. Dylann Justice ended her day with a 93 and Olesya Forbes shot an even 100 for the tournament.

The Tigers will return to Quail Ridge in Baker City on April 19 for the Girls District Preview with tee off slated for 1 p.m.
