IMBLER — The community effort to build a track facility in Imbler will take a leap forward on May 4 as the Golden Gala will take place at The Barn at Tamarack Springs.

The fundraiser is a semi-formal event for adults with only 100 tickets available. Social hour will kickoff the event starting at 5 p.m. with music, appetizers and a no-host bar.

Beginning at 6 p.m., dinner will be served by the Panther track athletes with a presentation and live auction at 7 p.m.

For those unable to attend in person, proxy bidding is permitted with signup available at imblertrack.org.

Auction items include a fishing trip, 70 sheets of plywood, a weekend at Wallowa Lake, a whitetail deer hunt, log bench, pheasant hunt, rifle with scope, backyard barbecue package, a Walla Walla wine walk, a wall tent, Aspen Meadows getaway, Wallowa fishing trip and a Puerto Vallarta vacation.

All proceeds from the Golden Gala go towards funding for a new track and field facility at Imbler High School. Efforts to date have raised almost half the amount needed to place Panther athletes on a track and allow Imbler to host meets.
