Residents of Union County would be hard-pressed to find a candidate for commissioner who has more relevant experience and knowledge of the community than Kathleen Cathey. She deserves our support for Position 3 on the Union County Board of Commissioners.
Kathleen knows the community, having lived in Union County for 50 years. She knows the workings of our local, state and federal governments, having served as field representative for Sen. Ron Wyden for 18 years. She knows hard work and the importance of working with and bringing people together. She has a track record of getting things done — locally and throughout the 11 counties she covers for the senator.
Kathleen is a former La Grande School Board member. Prior to working as Wyden’s field representative, she served as assistant director for the Union County Commission on Children and Families for 10 years. She was also the training coordinator for the Eastern Oregon Human Services Consortium for five years. It’s difficult to find one person who has such a broad range of serving citizens.
Katheen’s experience will allow her to work on issues important to all of us — addressing the fentanyl crisis by working closely with law enforcement, making health care and housing local priorities, emphasizing and prioritizing veterans’ health care services while also continuing to keep a focus on the local economy and our agricultural sector.
Union County will benefit greatly with a commissioner who knows how to get things done and who can hit the ground running from day one. Vote Kathleen Cathey for commissioner.
