- Dean Fenley and his Tiger teammates place a six game win streak on the line at home as the other Tigers of the Greater Oregon League come to town.
LA GRANDE — The La Grande baseball team saw identical scores of 6-5 just enough to down Baker/Powder Valley in two 4A Greater Oregon League games played in La Grande on Friday, April 26.
Baker/Powder Valley led in the opener 5-3 as the Tigers took to the bat in the bottom of the seventh inning. La Grande was able to score the two runs necessary to force the game into extra innings.
After the Bulldogs were unable to score in the top of the eighth, a home run in the bottom of the inning gave La Grande the victory.
Game two started off slowly for the Tigers again as Baker/Powder Valley led 5-2 after the initial three innings. The Tigers picked up two runs in the fifth and tied the score in the sixth inning. Heading into the bottom of the seventh, a home run once again handed the Tigers the win.
La Grande (9-5 overall, 5-1 4A Greater Oregon League) places a six-game win streak on the line on May 1 as the team hosts Ontario (8-7 overall, 1-7 4A Greater Oregon League). The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. against a team La Grande earlier beat 16-6 and 13-8 on April 12.
