Jared Boyd appeared before me many times when I was a circuit court judge, first as a prosecutor and then as a defense attorney. He joined the Union County D.A.’s office in 2008, where he tried many cases including felonies. In 2015 he went into private practice and began doing public defender work. He has handled many challenging cases efficiently and professionally.
Boyd is the only candidate for circuit court judge who has worked on both sides of the criminal justice system. He will be able to hit the ground running and handle a full caseload.
I have found Jared Boyd to be well prepared, honest, hardworking, intelligent and respectful. Jared does excellent legal research and keeps current with all of the case law. He is an effective communicator. He is not afraid to speak truth to power.
Jared believes in giving drug offenders an opportunity to get off drugs and become productive members of our community through our drug courts. He has worked with our successful drug courts both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. He has some good ideas on how to help the mentally ill in our criminal justice system while protecting the community.
Jared Boyd is a family man with two young daughters. Jared’s wife, Jill, works for the Oregon Health Authority providing reimbursement to health care providers. He and his wife are committed to making Union and Wallowa counties a better place to live.
Jared Boyd will bring honor to the bench. He will be an effective and fair judge.
