We want to highlight the exceptional dedication of the staff at Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics (GRH), who strive to provide top-notch care to our community. From quality care to ensuring safety, the staff goes above and beyond every day to ensure patients receive the best possible care at home. Here are some of the metrics that showcase this dedication.
“We are truly grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their experiences with us through our surveys. Your feedback is invaluable as it helps us continually refine our services,” Nate Wadsworth, assistant chief nursing officer, said. “One crucial metric we track is the ‘Responsiveness of Hospital Staff.’ When patients feel heard and attended to, it enhances their sense of safety and contributes to better healthcare outcomes.”
Over the past three years, GRH teams have consistently received a top rating of 5 out of 5 stars for hospital staff responsiveness. This stellar achievement surpasses the national average rating of 3.3 stars, underscoring the staff’s attentiveness and proactive work contributing to better patient healthcare outcomes.
The GRH team’s commitment to patient’s well-being extends beyond responsiveness. Recent statistics highlight success in identifying and treating severe infections like sepsis. Oregon hospitals averaged 59%, below the national average of 62%, while GRH soared to an impressive 87%. This quality measure showcases the timely recognition and early intervention that marks teams as exceptional at what they do.
“We couldn’t be prouder to announce GRH has surpassed 690 consecutive days without any patient falls resulting in injury,” Wade Twilegar, director of Inpatient Services, said. “Ensuring your safety is paramount to us, and every member of the GRH team is dedicated to preventing falls and safeguarding your well-being.”
This metric showcases the dedication of the staff to safety, in turn reducing the physical burden on patients.
Once discharged, dedication to recovery continues. GRH staff are devoted to providing quality care while receiving care in the hospital, providing clear discharge instructions, and ensuring proper follow-up care from Primary Care Providers. Notably, their readmission rate stands at just 6.5%, less than half the national and state averages. This remarkable achievement is thanks to the collective efforts of many departments within our Hospital and Clinics.
“At Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics, we share a commitment to improve the experience of every patient and strive diligently to ensure safe, quality care. The achievements mentioned speak to that dedication and commitment,” Wadsworth said.
