LA GRANDE — The La Grande softball team wrapped up the season with a 19-4 overall record, a second-place finish in the 4A Greater Oregon League standings and a trip to the state quarterfinals where the Tigers fell to Pendleton, the eventual state champions.

With the uniforms now turned in and the bats back in the bags, post season awards are now announced with eight Tigers receiving recognition.

Leading the listing and returning next season is pitcher Austyn Meusser named to the first team. Also returning next season and on the other end of Meusser’s pitches, Marti Anderson also was named to the first team.

Incoming junior Maddie Seavert picked up first team infield honors as did Belle Beer in her final year on the field as a Tiger. Also in her final year playing for La Grande, Genessa Porras was named to first team for her work in the outfield. The final first team honors went to Carlee Strand for her work as a utility player and returning for her senior season next year.

Second team honors went to younger Tigers as incoming juniors Peyton Daggett and Joselyn Dodds begin next season as GOL honorees. Daggett picked up second team mention as an outfielder as did Dodds.
