OXBOW — The road over Hells Canyon Dam will be closed much of Tuesday, June 18, while Idaho Power Company crews do maintenance work on the dam. The road will be closed from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., Pacific time, and again from noon to 3:30 p.m. Vehicles will be allowed to cross between 11 a.m. and noon.

Anyone traveling to the U.S. Forest Service’s Hells Canyon Creek Visitors Center or the boat launch below the dam should plan to cross outside of the work hours.

A crane will be used to lower employees down the face of the dam for weed removal, which will require the road closure. In the case of inclement weather that delays work on June 19, the road over the dam will also be closed on June 19. Check idahopower.com/whatsopen for updates.
