JOSEPH — The Wallowology Natural History Discovery Center invites the public to two upcoming events focusing on the Wallowa rosy finch.

On Friday, June 21, at 7 p.m. Ben Vernasco, of the Whitman College Biology Department, will talk about the ecology and monitoring of the Wallowa rosy finch and other birds of the Blue Mountains. This event is open to all, at no charge, held at Wallowology, 508 N. Main, Joseph.

On Saturday, June 22, a “Rosy Finch Express Outing” begins at 9:30 a.m. Participants will ride the Wallowa Lake Tram and explore alpine ecology with Vernasco. The cost of this excursion is $25 and pre-registration is required by emailing info@wallowology.org. Call 541-432-0112 for more information.
