LA GRANDE — The Blue Mountain Single Track Trails Club in La Grande is planning the inaugural Northeast Oregon Mountain Bike Festival July 19-21 to celebrate the trail system at Mount Emily Recreation Area.

The event is limited to the first 200 entries. Entry fee is $40 for adults, or $25 for Blue Mountain Single Track Trails Club members or ages 8-17.

The fee includes access to all activities, a club sticker, free beverage at the opening party and barbecue and beverage at the after party.

The festival includes rides for intermediate and advanced bicyclists, bike clinics, gravity races, cross-country races and contests.

The schedule includes:

Friday, July 19

• 4 p.m.: opening group ride (intermediate level), Owsley trailhead

• 7 p.m.: opening party, Side A Tap House, La Grande

Saturday, July 20

• 9 a.m.: bike clinic and bike demos, both at Owsley trailhead

• 10 a.m.: advanced group ride, Owsley trailhead

• 10 a.m.: intermediate group ride, Owsley trailhead

• 10 a.m.: junior clinic and group ride (ages 8 and up), Owsley trailhead

• Noon: hot shot hot laps (gravity race), Owsley trailhead

• Noon: parent trap laps (individual cross-country race), Owsley trailhead

• 5 p.m. After party barbecue, long jump, no foot down, bunny hop contest, Mountain Works Shop

Sunday, July 21

• 9 a.m.: Shorty group ride, Owsley trailhead
