The epidemic of opioid addiction and its consequences touch every community, every demographic and every single one of us in some way. Aug. 12 is the deadline for each county in Oregon to complete forms/procedures necessary for receiving $40 million dollars from the Kroger grocery chain for its role as a dispenser of opioids.
This pay out was announced September 2023 by Oregon Attorney General Ellen Rosenblum. This is not rocket science to complete a business practice. Oregon has 36 counties, and 33 county boards of commissioners have yet to finalize this procedure that Kroger hopes will not be completed so it won’t have to pay a dime to Oregon.
Please ask your county commissioners to help initiate all Oregon counties getting this done. It only takes one county not in compliance to lose $40 million. As Larry the Cable Guy says, “Life isn’t like a box of chocolates. It is more like a jar of jalapenos. What you do today, might burn your butt tomorrow.”
Git ‘er done.
