WorkSource Oregon hosts meetings for fired federal workers

UNION COUNTY — WorkSource Oregon is hosting two informational meetings in early March in La Grande and Baker City for federal employees who recently lost their jobs.
The aim of the rapid response community resource informational meeting is to help connect individuals who lost their federal jobs in the recent mass layoffs to resources that can help with new employment opportunities, according to an announcement from WorkSource Oregon.
The La Grande meeting will be March 4 from 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. at 1901 Adams Ave., Suite 4.
The Baker City meeting will run the same hours on March 6 at 1575 Dewey Ave.
The meetings are open to all of the surrounding counties.
Support services may be available on a variety of topics, including unemployment benefits, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits, veteran benefits, information about the health care marketplace, job search skills and relocation assistance.
