UNION COUNTY — The Union County Drug Task Force arrested a father and son on numerous drug charges.

Task force members on March 5 took Scott Everett Mann, 40, and Steven Everett Mann, 21, into custody following a monthslong investigation, according to a press release from the Union County Sheriff’s Office.

Law enforcement arrested Scott Mann for possession of methamphetamine and frequenting a place where drugs are sold, while Steven Mann is charged with felony possession of a substantial quantity of a controlled substance (cocaine), distribution of a substantial quantity of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of cannabinoid extracts not from the Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission, and frequenting a place where drugs are sold.

The investigation led the drug task force to serve the Manns a search warrant on their recreational vehicle, which was in the Walmart parking lot. According to police, the father and son have been living in the RV.

While law enforcement searched the RV, Steven Mann told an officer things had been difficult and he started selling drugs to have a place to sleep, according to the probable cause declaration. He also said there was cocaine in the cupboard above the couch and a scale on the table.

During the search, police found 17 packaged baggies of cocaine, two jars of marijuana extract, two digital scales with drug residue and several small baggies — some of which had white powder residue, according to the probable cause declaration. Officers also found Steven Mann’s wallet, which contained nearly $1,400.

Law enforcement recovered the title for the RV that showed Scott Mann as the owner, according to the probable cause declaration, as well as a meth pipe in the bedroom with “a usable and likely weighable quantity of meth residue,” which Scott Mann admitted belonged to him.

The Union County Sheriff’s Office and the Oregon State Police K9 unit assisted the local drug task force.

Steven Mann is being held on $15,000 bail and is due in court April 3 for a plea hearing, according to court records. Scott Mann had a plea hearing March 6.
