Our websites are changing

Published 9:00 am Saturday, March 8, 2025

Dear readers,

The East Oregonian website is about to undergo a change this week. As are the websites for the Baker City Herald, Blue Mountain Eagle, Hermiston Herald, The Observer and Wallowa County Chieftain.

Our websites will look like the website of our related publication, the Capital Press.

Each of our websites still will offer local news, opinion and event and entrainment reporting but with a different look. Menu items at the top of the new homepage allow users to navigate to the latest stories.

The top stories of the day across all sections will appear at the top of the homepage with a photo, and local and regional news items will appear in the upper-left More Stories section. As new content is published, stories will flow to the bottom of the homepage. The EO’s e-Edition each Wednesday will appear on the new homepage.

During this transition to the new website, some archived stories and photos could be temporarily unavailable.

Thank you for reading; if you have yet to subscribe, please consider it.

If you have comments or questions about the EO or our related news operations in Eastern Oregon, or want to pass along a story idea, send an email to editor@eastoregonian.com.

And of course thank you to East Oregonian’s subscribers: We simply would be unable to do this vital work without your support.

Phil Wright is the managing editor of the East Oregonian.
