- Emmy award–winning host, #1 New York Times bestselling author, and “America’s Mom,” Tabitha Brown, shares personal and inspiring childhood story in her first-ever picture book, Hello There, Sunshine.
(NAPSI)—A great way to cheer up a child on a gray or otherwise down day is with a new book by Tabitha Brown, the Emmy Award–winning host of the children’s show “Tab Time” and multiple NAACP award winner, #1 New York Times bestselling author, and vegan food star.
Illustrated by Olivia Duchess, it was inspired by Brown’s own childhood adventures, and pays homage to the community and neighborhood that influenced who she is today.
The Story
With themes of kindness, curiosity, and joy, “Hello There, Sunshine” follows young Tabitha, who wakes up ready to greet the sun every morning. She loves how it brings everyone joy. But one day she wakes up and the sun is missing. Not one to dwell on the negative, Tabitha hops on her Strawberry Shortcake bike with her puppy in tow and makes it her business to find the sun.
The adventure takes her through her neighborhood, lending a helping hand and asking everyone if they’ve seen the big star. When the sun is still nowhere to be found, Tabitha remains positive, looks a little deeper, and finds that sometimes the sunshine we’re looking for is inside of us.
A great pick for fans of “What Do You Do with an Idea?,” “You Matter,” and “Just Because,” Brown’s children’s debut is a marvelous read-aloud and a great gift that will remind the youngest reader to always stay positive.
Brown says, “My mom always taught me that helping others makes us feel good! The light inside of us all shines and I hope this book reminds every child that they are their own sunshine!”
The book, published by HarperCollins Children’s Books, one of the leading publishers of children’s and teen books, can be an excellent way to encourage kids to rely on themselves, be mindful of others and find their own happiness.
