Distribution warehouse coming to La Grande Biz Tech Park
LA GRANDE — A large construction project is underway at the La Grande Business and Technology Park.
The construction is for a distribution warehouse, according to Community Development Director Mike Boquist, which was submitted to La Grande under the code name Project Nickle. Boquist said it is not uncommon for out-of-town companies to use code names for developments.
“They’re still operating under a code name,” he said.
The developer for the project is Phoenix-based BH DevCo, Boquist said. According to the real estate development company’s website, it specializes in build-to-suit industrial facilities for “national tenants in the e-commerce distribution and fulfillment space.”
Once completed, the warehouse will be at 323 Antelope Drive.
“They purchased three lots and merged them all together into one,” Boquist said.
He added the developer and contractors have a much larger area barricaded for construction than what the final facility will entail because they have space closed off near Wallowa Mountain Drive for staging and are building out Elkhorn Drive for access.
