JOSEPH — The Joseph City Council at its meeting Thursday, April 3, considers a conditional use permit for the Blackburn Building that is to become the new Joseph City Library.
The council meets at 7 p.m. at the Joseph Community Events Center. The public can attend in person or via Zoom at tinyurl.com/JosCncl0403. The meeting ID is 826 7850 5696 and the passcode is 200391.
The the 1,600-square-foot Blackburn Building is just down the hill from Joseph Charter School. The former medical office will replace the library’s cramped quarters in city hall once remodeling is completed.

Among other business, the council will:
• Consider a donation request from the Joseph Chamber of Commerce to help fund the “Shake the Lake” Independence Day fireworks display.
• Consider a street closure request for the 2025 Chief Joseph Days parades. The children’s parade is July 25 and the grand parade is July 26. Both go down Main Street.
• Schedule a work session to consider city assets, real properties and public safety funding.
• Schedule a citywide cleanup for April 12-22. Tentative plans for the cleanup already have been discussed.
• Hear a presentation from Anderson Perry, the city’s engineering firm.
• Hear department reports.
