Real Deals to open in La Grande

A new store will be opening in La Grande, featuring women’s fashion and home decor.

Franchise owner, Janet Camp and her husband, Eastern Oregon University Football Coach Tim Camp, are eager to introduce the Eastern Oregon area to a new shopping experience.

“We stumbled into a Real Deals location a few years ago and felt like we were at home,” Janet said in a press release. “I’m excited to now create that same custom, friendly and homey shopping experience where I’ll know all the customers by name and make a one-on-one connection.”

The shop will be located at 1108 Adams Ave., next door to the Allstate Insurance office.

According to the Real Deals on Home Decor website, the company was started 10 years ago, and when individuals kept saying that they wanted to open similar shops, the owners –– who also happen to be sisters –– decided to franchise.

Camp attended training at the Real Deals headquarters in Twin Falls, Idaho, as she prepared for the store opening.

She has also been renovating the retail space, and selecting inventory for the store.

“Since I’m now a franchise owner, all of the expenses are mine,” Camp told The Observer.

According to the press release, Camp believes that the shop will be a point of destination.

“With home decor treasures that change weekly to the latest in women’s fashion trend, Real Deals is going to become a true retail destination for people from Baker City on up to Pendleton and everywhere in between,” Camp said.

The store is known for offering everything from new traditional styles to seasonal decor to their signature wall of clocks. They also strive to provide a custom, locally owned shopping experience with products that feature ambitiously low pricing. According to the press release Real Deals’ traditional design elements are always a staple, and boutique franchise owners love offering an eclectic mix of curated goods and fashion in every trend that customs can style into their personal look.

Established in 2003, Real Deals currently has 65 franchise locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Other Real Deals locations in Oregon include McMinnville, Lebanon, Oregon City, Roseburg, Eugene, Medford, Salem and one opening soon in Bend.

Camp told The Observer that she and her husband have lived in La Grande for 12 years, and are now looking forward to giving back to the community.

“We want to give back in a way we haven’t before,” she said. “In more of a community service way, by helping revitalize downtown.”

Camp’s Real Deals store will have a grand opening at 10 a.m. May 17.
