High school boys basketball: Tigers host Pendleton in GOL matchup

Overview: Pendleton started the league season off with a victory over Ontario on Jan. 5 followed by a two-point loss to 3A Umatilla on Jan. 9. A home game against 3A Burns was called off on Jan. 13 due to road conditions and the safety of the teams. This season, Pendleton has failed to win two games in a row.

La Grande has struggled and host the Buckaroos after dropping its last three games. Hosting Baker for their league opener, the Tigers fell behind early and dropped a 68-31 contest. This is the final home game for La Grande before departing on a five-game road trip, not returning to the home gym until Feb. 8.

Pilot Rock at Elgin

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Records: Pilot Rock (43) 4-10 overall, 0-3 1A Old Oregon League; Elgin (62) 2-11 overall, 0-1 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: After opening the season with six straight losses, the Rockets rebounded with four wins. Pilot Rock makes the trip to Elgin after dropping the team’s last four games, including three losses in league play. The last two league losses have come with over 37-point margins.

It has been well over one month since the Huskies saw the scoreboard go in their favor. A young team saw their lone league game end with a 37-point loss to Union on Jan. 5. After hosting the Rockets, the Huskies are on the road for three games, all league contests.
