La Grande at Ontario

Records: La Grande (26) 4-13 overall, 0-2 4A Greater Oregon League; Ontario (30) 3-11 overall, 0-1 4A Greater Oregon League

Overview: After four successive losses, including two league downfalls, this is the chance for La Grande to pick up a win. It has been over two weeks since the Tigers saw the scoreboard reading a victory.

Ontario saw a loss to Pendleton to open the Greater Oregon League season and will look to even up its record. Ontario fans have yet to see the home team win as all three victories this season have occurred on the road.

Wallowa at Cove

Time: 4 p.m.

Records: Wallowa (44) 8-9 overall, 2-1 1A Old Oregon League; Cove (16) 12-5 overall, 2-1 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: After a league road win over Pine Eagle, Wallowa is again back in a strange gym for a league contest in Cove. The Cougars have Old Oregon wins over Joseph and Pine Eagle to go with a loss to Imbler early in the league year. Previous to the loss to Imbler, the Cougars were riding a six-game winning streak.

Also on a win streak is Cove after taking its last two league games with victories. In both games, the Leopards held their opponents to 36 points in each game.

Powder Valley at Joseph

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Records: Powder Valley (40) 7-9 overall, 1-2 1A Old Oregon League; Joseph (55) 5-10 overall, 1-2 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: Two teams with identical league records meet in the Joseph gym.

There is a history between these two teams as the Badgers beat the Eagles back on Dec. 2 in tournament play. Powder Valley makes the trip to Joseph looking to break a three-game skid, including two league losses. The Badgers’ last victory was back on Jan. 4 with a home win over Pine Eagle.

Eagle fans may have forgot who is on the Joseph team as the Eagles have not been in the home gym since Dec. 14. Joseph did finish up the road stand on Jan. 18 in Imbler but will now be home for three games, all league contests.

Imbler at Pine Eagle

Time: 6:30 p.m.

Records: Imbler (2) 15-2 overall, 3-0 1A Old Oregon League; Pine Eagle (81) 1-15 overall, 0-3 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: A win by the Spartans in the Pine Eagle gym would be an epic upset in both the league and state standings.

Union at Echo

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Records: Union (4) 12-4 overall, 2-0 1A Old Oregon League; Echo (27) 10-6 overall, 2-1 1A Old Oregon League

Overview: Three of the top five 1A teams in the state are in this league, including Union.

Union makes the trip to Echo coming off a rare loss, falling on the road to 2A Stanfield on Jan. 16. The Bobcats need to keep winning as both Imbler and Nixyaawii are also without a league loss.

Echo returns home after a road win over Griswold in league action on Jan. 13. The league standings find the Cougars currently tied with Cove and Wallowa, all with 2-1 records.

The Elgin/Nixyaawii game has been cancelled due to weather and road conditions.
