High school basketball: Local teams rack up all-league honors

LA GRANDE — At the conclusion of the 1A Old Oregon League tournament, coaches gathered and named players to the all-league team. Due to the enormity of the league, the honorees are split into the Meacham and Ladd divisions with Joseph and Wallowa placed into the Ladd Division.
The Union boys found four names on the list for the Meacham Division. Tee Ledbetter and Chase Koshinky picked up first honors, while Trae Frank and Evan Cloutier were named to second team.
Elgin’s James Cupp was also named second team.
Union’s Kaelyn Shoemaker was named Player of the Year after the voting was tallied. Two additional Bobcats, Sawyer Shoemaker and Jayda Blackburn, were named to he tsecond team.
For Elgin, Lydia Hasbell was named to the first team.
The Ladd Division named Imbler’s Justin Frost as Player of the Year. Frost saw teammate Jake Bingaman and Henry Treat on first team. Wyatt Jones joined the group as a second-team honoree.
Cove’ Wyatt Burgess and Micah Jayne were first-team selections, while Maverick Tidwell-Stone was named to the second team.
Also on second team was Powder Valley’s Hunter Bingham.
The Player of the Year award for the Ladd Division was split between two girls with Union’s Jodi Bingham and Imbler’s Rachael Stirewalt sharing the honor this season.
The Badgers also placed Kelle Dixon on the first team joined by Ayla Bingham and Jacey Anderson on the second team.
Imbler’s Paiten Braseth was named to the first team and Jayda Cant was named to the second team.

Second Team: Gabe Nobles (Wallowa), Hunter Bingham (Powder Valley), Maverick Tidwell-Stone (Cove), Wyatt Burns (Imbler), Isaac Barnum (Wallowa).
Ladd Co-Players of the Year – Jodi Bingham (Powder Valley), Rachael Stirewalt (Imbler)
First Team: Kellee Dixon (Powder Valley), Paiten Braseth (Imbler), Aimee Meyers (Joseph), Sophie Moeller (Wallowa), Zoe Hermens (Wallowa).
Second Team: Ayla Bingham (Powder Valley), Jayda Cant (Imbler), Caleigh Johnson (Joseph), Jacey Anderson (Powder Valley), Abby Straight (Wallowa).
Meacham Player of the Year – Baron Moses (Nixyaawii)
First Team: Tee Ledbetter (Union), Dominic Curiel (Echo), Symon Picard (Nixyaawii), Chase Koshinsky (Union), Rylen Bronson (Nixyaawii).
Second Team: Chase Corwin (Pilot Rock), Trae Frank (Union), Jack Sperr (Echo), Evan Cloutier (Union), James Cupp (Elgin).
Meacham Player of the Year – Kaelyn Shoemaker (Union)
First Team: Mayela De La Fuente (Echo), Ella Stewart (Nixyaawii), Nevaeh Thew (Echo), Lydia Hasbell (Elgin), Kenzie Hendrix (Echo).
