LA GRANDE — Senior Night turned out to be a big celebration for La Grande on Thursday, Feb. 8.
Not only did the Tigers celebrate their seniors but they also got to celebrate a regular season Greater Oregon League title with a 55-21 win over the visiting Ontario Tigers.
“We got up early in this game and then played all our kids liberally which was good,” La Grande head coach Brian Wright said.
Those taking center court along with family and teammates included seniors Kadance Arant, Maya Wilson and Maezie Wilcox.
Due to a computer error, team and individual statistics were not available for the game.
The game marked the second time La Grande has won over Ontario and cemented the Tigers as the 4A GOL regular season champions.
La Grande finishes the regular season with a 15-8 overall record, including a 5-1 4A GOL showing and a seventh-place ranking in the state poll.
La Grande will await the 4A Greater Oregon League tournament results and will next take the court on Feb. 17. The opponent will depend on earlier games in the week and the time has not been set for the title game.
