The photo in The Observer of the bighorn sheep that was illegally killed and left to waste is a clear indication that the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife has failed in its duty to properly protect our state’s dwindling wildlife resource.

The ongoing efforts to deter by offering “rewards” for tips on perpetrators simply doesn’t work! The ever skyrocketing levels of crime in all categories we have seen over the last 50-60 years is a direct result of limited or no deterrents.

Pictures like the one mentioned above will continue until the punishment is commensurate with the offense.
