LA GRANDE — A crash closed the westbound lane of Interstate 84 between La Grande and Ontario on Saturday, March 2.

The interstate reopened shortly before 2 p.m., according to a press release from the Oregon Department of Transportation. The closure was first reported around 11 a.m. and shut the westbound lanes of travel between Exit 265, 4 miles east of La Grande, and 302, 3 miles west of Ontario.

ODOT said the closure was caused by a crash near milepost 268, 7 miles east of La Grande. Crews are still working to clean up with left lane near the crash location. Drivers should slow down while traveling through this area.

OR 205 was also impacted by the closure as the route is not a viable detour to interstate traffic, according to ODOT. The route was closed to non-local freight and passenger vehicles.
