High school softball: Huskies split district softball doubleheader

PILOT ROCK — Elgin/Imbler saw both the good and the bad during a pair of games on Saturday, April 13, in Elgin.
Coming off a 2A/1A Special District 7 victory over Union/Cove on April 9, Elgin/Imbler notched the team’s second consecutive win with a 12-7 victory over Pilot Rock/Nixyaawii to start the day.
The nightcap did not go as well. The Rockets salvaged a split with a 14-4 victory over the Huskies.
Elgin/Imbler (4-8 overall, 2-4 2A/1A Special District 7) continues with district play on April 16 with a trip to John Day to meet Grant Union/Prairie City (10-1 overall, 2-0 2A/1A Special District 7). In addition to leading the district standings, the Prospectors are the top ranked 2A/1A team in the state.
