As a retired city manager who has dedicated decades to serving the Hermiston community, I feel compelled to express my heartfelt gratitude and admiration for Dave Drotzmann’s exceptional leadership during his 11-plus years as our mayor. His steadfast guidance was instrumental in navigating Hermiston through an initial period of chaos, instilling the confidence and trust our community was demanding.

Under his visionary leadership, Mayor Drotzmann has not only fostered unity but has also actively engaged the community in shaping its future. The establishment of crucial committees — such as the Faith-Based Advisory Committee, the Hispanic Advisory Committee and the Livability Committee — demonstrated his commitment to bringing people together and being transparent in governance.

Furthermore, Mayor Drotzmann spearheaded transformative projects like the Oxbow Trail and led in the transition of the old county fairgrounds to the Hermiston School District, which showcases his dedication to progress and community development. His unwavering support for the new Eastern Oregon Trade and Event Center and the Harkenrider Senior Center reflects his foresight in meeting the evolving needs of our residents.

In these challenging times for the state of Oregon, Mayor Drotzmann’s leadership shines brightly. I am confident that under his stewardship, Senate District 29 will continue to thrive and prosper. Please join me in voting Dave Drotzmann for Senator of District 29.
