IMBLER — Pleasant Grove Grange #475 each year awards a $1,000 scholarship to a graduating senior from Imbler High School who intends to enter a trade school or certificate program. This scholarship has been offered annually since 2000, according to an announcement.

This year, the Grange has chosen to award the scholarship to Avonlea Crook, who will be attending Walla Walla Community College with plans to enter its nursing program. The funds will go directly to the school in her name for use toward tuition, fees, books or other incidental expenses associated with her program.

In the announcement the Grange also recognized Jackson Fisher, who will be entering the Air Force where he will receive training in Fuels Distribution & Cryogenics. He had originally applied for the scholarship in order to complete his commercial drivers license, but that will now be accomplished through his military induction.
