NORTH MARION — La Grande returned home a little earlier than it would have liked after falling in the first round of bracket play during competition at the North Marion Invite on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The Tigers finished second in the morning pool play and entered the afternoon bracket section against North Bend. The 4A Sky Em squad downed La Grande 25-12, 25-20 to send La Grande home.

“Overall, we had great serving for the tournament,” La Grande head coach Melinda Becker-Bisenius said. “For the day, we served at 95%.”

La Grande (6-8 overall, 1-0 4A Greater Oregon League) returns to league play on Sept. 26 hosting Baker (2-7 overall) for the Bulldogs’ league opener. The first serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
