High school volleyball: Service aces push Cove past Imbler

IMBLER — Using 17 service aces, Cove avenged an early-season loss and took a 11-25, 25-15, 25-16, 13-25, 15-13 1A Old Oregon League win over Imbler on Thursday, Oct. 12, in Imbler.

Cove has now won six of its last seven matches avenged a 3-0 victory by Imbler on Sept. 19.
Cabella Gregory served five of the 17 aces for the Leopards, while Emma Carson ended the night with four blocks.
Cove (10-12 overall, 3-5 1A Old Oregon League) returns home on Oct. 13 and looks to make it seven of the last eight with a victory as Pine Eagle (3-10 overall, 0-8 1A Old Oregon League) is in town with the first serve scheduled for 5 p.m.

Imbler (15-13 overall, 5-5 1A Old Oregon League) now awaits the final matches from around the league to determine the team the Panthers will meet as the Old Oregon League district tournament opens Saturday, Oct. 21.
