ECHO — A nice three-game win streak came to a halt for the Elgin volleyball team with a trip to Echo on Monday, Oct. 2, taking the court against the Cougars in 1A Old Oregon League play.

Echo started the match quickly, winning over Elgin 25-15 in the first set. The second set was identical with the Cougars winning again by a score of 25-15 and Elgin took the Old Oregon loss after Echo won the third set, 25-17.

“I was pleased with the girls adapting to a temporary change in our lineup,” Elgin head coach Tianna Murphy said.

Game and individual statistics were not available.

The loss drops the Huskies to .500 on the season with an 8-8 overall record and a 4-3 1A Old Oregon League showing.

Elgin volleyball joins the Huskies football team for a trip to Adrian on Friday, Oct. 6 for nonleague action versus the Antelopes (14-7 overall). The trip continues a period of road contests for Elgin volleyball, a team that has not seen a home match since Sept. 14.
