High school football: Trevor Treat leads Imbler’s eight selections to all-league

IMBLER — The Imbler football team may have fell in the quarterfinals of the OSAA Class 1A 8-man state playoffs to close out the season, but the Panthers dominated the selections to the 1A 8-man Special District 2 East All-League team released Dec. 4.

Panther senior Trevor Treat closes out his high school football career as Player of the Year after voting by the district’s coaches. Treat picked up first-team honors as quarterback on the offensive side of the ball and was a first-team defensive back on the other side of the ball.

Treat is joined on the listing by teammates senior Henry Treat (second-team running back and first-team linebacker), senior Justin Frost (first-team end and first-team defensive end), junior Gabe Harder (first-team guard) and senior Eli Mola (honorable mention guard). Imbler continued with senior Jack Fisher (second-team center), senior Dallin Rasmussen (second-team defensive back) and senior Jeremiah Martin (first-team defensive line).

Elgin has four players named to the list: senior Ty McLaughlin (first-team quarterback, second-team returner and first-team linebacker), sophomore Joey Hale (second-team guard and honorable mention defensive line), senior Owen Johnson (second-team defensive end) and senior James Cupp (first-team punter).

Cove also has four players on the list: junior Nolan Needham-Barton (second-team running back and second-team defensive back), senior Wyatt Burgess (first-team end and second-team linebacker), junior Maverick Tidwell-Stone (honorable mention center and honorable mention defensive end) and junior Caleb Carson (first-team kicker).

The two honorees representing Powder Valley are senior Tucker Martin (first-team running back and second-team linebacker) and senior Caleb Kerns (first-team guard and second-team defensive line).

Four players represent Union on the listing: junior Kelton Shoemaker (honorable mention running back), senior Trae Frank (honorable mention end and honorable mention returner), senior Elijah Gliddon (second-team guard and second-team defensive line) and sophomore Carlos Jiminez (second-team punter).

Crane head coach Matt Hawley picked up the award for Coach of the Year by his peers, and Imbler assistant Mike Mills was chosen Assistant Coach of the Year.
