Angel Tree Program applications now open

LA GRANDE — Applications for the Angel Tree Program are open for the season, according to a post on Community Connection of Northeast Oregon’s social media page.
The program is providing both food and toy boxes this year. Families who could use help filling their cupboards and/or with gifts for their children and teens are encouraged to apply.
Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the following locations:
• The Archives bookstore, 315 Fir St., La Grande
• Union County Warming Station, 501 Third St., La Grande
• Center for Human Development, 2301 Cove Ave. La Grande
• Northeast Oregon Public Transit Hub, 2204 E. Penn, Ave., La Grande
• Northeast Housing Authority, 2608 May Lane, La Grande
• Head Start Administrative Office, Zabel Hall 114, Eastern Oregon University, La Grande
• Any Union County Head Start location

Food boxes will be distributed in the Grace Bible Church gym, 1114 Y Ave., La Grande, on Dec. 19 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Toy boxes with gifts for children will be handed out at the same location on Dec. 21 from 1-4 p.m.
The boxes cannot be delivered, so recipients must make arrangements for pickups during the specified times.
Applications must be returned by Dec. 8.
