LA GRANDE — Eastern Oregon University was recently recognized for a number of its online programs for institutions assessed for the year 2024.
Intelligent — a web resource for program rankings and higher education planning — ranked Eastern Oregon University eighth overall for best online colleges in Oregon. The university was also ranked 16th overall for colleges in the state.
“EOU is honored to be recognized for its commitment to delivering top-tier online and hybrid programs that not only equip students with valuable skills but also offer a strong return on investment,” a press release read.
Twelve other universities made the online list: Oregon State University, Oregon Institute of Technology, University of Oregon, Portland State University, Linfield University, Bushnell University, Corban University, Southern Oregon University, Multnomah University, Western Oregon University, George Fox University and Warner Pacific University.
Ten of Eastern’s online degrees also made the company’s Best of 2024 or Most Affordable of 2024 lists.
Eastern’s online degrees for bachelor’s in economics, bachelor’s in exercise science, bachelor’s in anthropology, communications, bachelor’s in business administration, early childhood education and cybersecurity all made the company’s Best of 2024 list.
The university was also awarded the most affordable online bachelor’s in early childhood education, computer science and psychology.
Also, earlier in 2023, the university’s online early childhood education program was recognized by Forbes.
Intelligent derives its rankings from a methodology that evaluates higher education institutions on a scale from zero to 100 across four categories, according to the company’s website. These categories include academic quality, graduation rates, student resources and cost or return on investment.
The team at Intelligent decided on these four categories because they tend to be important decision-making factors for students when selecting a school.
