Union County tallies 38 new COVID-19 cases in latest OHA report

SALEM — The Oregon Health Authority released its latest daily COVID-19 report on Wednesday, Jan. 12, revealing 38 new cases in Union County and 13 new cases in Wallowa County.

The new report increased Union County’s total to 3,797 since the start of the pandemic. Wallowa County’s total since the beginning of COVID-19 grew to 861 with the latest update from OHA.

Across the state, 8,760 new confirmed and presumptive cases were reported. Oregon’s total case count since the start of the pandemic stands at 494,945. OHA reported 31 new deaths in the state, bringing Oregon’s death toll to 5,845 since the start of the pandemic.

The report showed that there are currently 756 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 across Oregon, which is an increase of 29 patients from yesterday’s update. There are currently 146 COVID-19 patients in intensive care unit beds.

Out of 653 total adult ICU beds in the state, 34 are currently available. There are 262 available adult non-ICU beds out of 4,135.

Oregon’s seven-day running average of vaccine doses per day is 15,532.
