LA GRANDE — The La Grande girls and boys basketball games scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 11, against Baker High School have been postponed due to COVID-19 precautions within both the La Grande boys and girls teams, La Grande High School Athletic Director Darren Goodman and Baker School District Athletic Director Buell Gonzales Jr. announced.

The matchups were slated to take place at Baker High School and serve as the Greater Oregon League openers for both schools. According to Goodman, the Baker matchups will be rescheduled Feb. 8.

“We’re just being precautious,” Goodman said.

The La Grande athletic director noted that the Tigers are still scheduled to play at Ontario on Jan. 14. Tip-off is slated for 6:30 p.m.

La Grande’s boys team is currently 8-1 on the year and the girls team is 6-5.
