LA GRANDE — An AARP
“Smart Driver” class will be taught from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 19 at Grande Ronde Hospital in La Grande. The driving refresher course will be taught by Fred Moore, a certified volunteer instructor. Course participants will learn defensive driving skills, safety strategies, how to stay current with driving technologies, the current rules of the road, and how to manage and accommodate common age-related changes in vision, hearing and reaction time.
Participants may be eligible for a multi-year insurance discount after taking the course. There are no tests required. The class is open to drivers of all ages. Cost is $15 for AARP members (bring card) and $20 for non-members. To register or for more information call Moore at 541-910-9797.
