ENTERPRISE -Jim Nelson of Tillamook, Edmund Wayne from Lake Bosworth, Wash., and Wallowa County’s own Brian Buck take the Tunesmith Stage Saturday at Lear’s Main Street Pub and Grill, 111 W. Main St., Enterprise.
Admission to the concert is $8 or by season pass. Doors open at 6 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.
Jim Nelson presents a contemporary folk style that is down-to-earth and friendly with songs that have strong elements of nature and the environment. His clear vocals and solid guitar playing are enhanced by accompanist Tim Hines of The Alibis on bass guitar.
Walla Walla Friends of Acoustic Music says, “Nelson challenges the listener to think, and elicits compassion for our planet as well as expressing beauty and joy in life.”
Edmund Wayne is the solo personality of Curt Krause, front man and songwriter in the Pullman, Wash.-based band Buffalo Death Beam.
Having spent much of the past year in the solitude of a remote lake cabin in western Washington, Wayne is ready to get back on the road.
Wayne said, “I am too young to deserve this peace and quiet, so I think I’ll move off the lake soon. I’ve got too much love and too many songs in my heart to share to be locked away in the deep woods.”
Local favorite Brian Buck delivers a wide range of edgy intelligent folk-pop with a direct honesty that’s hard to beat. With quiet confidence, Buck’s smart lyrics ride on a voice that sails from an intimate whisper to sweet high notes, organizers say, taking the listener along. His rollicking guitar playing provides just the right touch.
The Wallowa Valley Music Alliance’s Tunesmith Night is a monthly showcase of original music held at Lear’s Main Street Grill, 111 W. Main St. in Enterprise. It is an opportunity for songwriters to present their music to a quiet and respectful listening audience.
