Union County Commissioners move opt out ordinance to second reading

The Union County Commissioners voted 2-1, with Commissioner Jack Howard in opposition, to pass the marijuana opt out ordinance to its second reading.

The county is moving ahead to completely opt out of the sale and production of medical and recreational marijuana.

At their meeting on Wednesday morning, the commissioners moved the ordinance to its second reading which will be held at their next meetng on Nov. 4.

Additionally, the county-wide burn ban will be lifted beginning tomorrow.
